Using music to reach students.

The following is a list of past and present initiatives of Rock + Learn and West Hartford students!

Teach-ins throughout West Hartford public schools about building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan began on March 17, and the campaign to collect pennies will ended on April 8.  That Tuesday night we had a major “read-in” at the new Barnes + Noble in Blue Back Square! 

“Rock for Rights” was an all-day event celebrating what youth can do to make a difference in their world.  It featured local bands and organizations that make our community better.  Stay tuned for information on “Rock for Rights ‘09” next spring!

Red Hand Day (2/12/08) raised money and awareness to help save child soldiers around the world.  Hall Human Rights Coalition raised over $600 this year to help fund a safe house for ex-child soldiers!
